Meeting New People in Difficult Times

A Personal Message from Heather Heber Percy, our Founder

I would like to take a moment in time to pass on some of my thoughts and feelings to our loyal members and to those of you who are thinking of joining The County Register in the future. None of us could have imagined in our wildest nightmares that this would happen, in what we consider to be a civilised part of the world.

Technology however has come to our rescue in so many important ways and thank goodness this did not happen prior to the age of technology. It is at times like this, that we all need to continue with that vital connection to others in order to prevent the loneliness that we have all experienced at some time in our lives. But help is at hand – we can as a company join you together, chatting to each other over this period of lockdown and we can also provide you with genuine discounts in order to be able to join us and achieve this.

Coming up very shortly we will be celebrating the 37th anniversary of the formation of The County Register, so I wanted to reach out to you all to say, don’t be afraid to ask for our help at the moment and that I am still very much involved and personally available for advice on matches and memberships for new people.

During the 37 years of running The County Register, I have seen and lived through most things in terms of illness and infections SARS, MERS, HIV but nothing quite as far-reaching as the current Coronavirus Pandemic. HIV was probably the most difficult situation I had to deal with, because suddenly both male and female members decided not to enter into physical relationships.

As a dating agency at that time, we therefore created a helpline for our members, so that they could speak to someone within the medical profession in confidence, who would then advise them accordingly. We also survived two recessions and the banking crisis of 2008. I think what I am trying to say to you, is that we will survive and we will adapt to these changing times, but one thing will never change and that is the dedication in trying to find you that someone special to share your life with, a person with whom you can sit in the silence and not feel the silence.

On another positive note, speaking to people in the last few weeks has highlighted the feeling of loneliness we all share in situations such as these and this in turn has heightened our desire to do something about it, by finding you a special partner for the future – something we will continue to do, even in lockdown at The County Register.

The one thing we are able to do as human beings at the moment, with the exception of those on the frontline, is to take advantage of time on our hands, that many of us have never experienced before

  • Time to contemplate and focus on your life, what you would like to achieve and what is currently missing
  • Time to concentrate on the sort of person that you’d like to attract into your life, perhaps being alone has given you more perspective on this and altered your wish list somewhat
  • Time to invest in finding that person and evaluating if they are for you
  • Having time is a wonderful asset and in life, it’s often in short supply – happily today we have it in abundance so why not take advantage of something so rare?

We have also introduced a flexible start date, so you can start your matchmaking service whenever you wish in the next 12 months. We have also built an extra 6 months ‘hold’ into your membership, so that you can stop and start your membership, whenever you wish, without disadvantaging yourself at all.

To reward and to thank our wonderful NHS workers, we have also introduced a 30% cash discount for NHS staff, to bring our exclusive products down to an entry cost that is extremely affordable for most people and joining The County Register could change your life so much.

Again, we would expect those of you who are working day and night, to be able to take up a realistic offer from us with a flexible delay date for your membership. This will give you something to look forward to, once you go back to normal working hours again. It will be something for you to look forward to.

To assist you in becoming a member of my exclusive dating organisation, please speak to Tracey Cater, our Senior Membership Adviser, on 0800 644 4110, calls are entirely at our expense, or complete our online enquiry form. For those clients looking to join on our Elegance Membership, I will be personally overseeing your membership and individual matches, please complete our online form and ask for me personally – I will gladly find the time to ring you for a personal chat and an appraisal of how best we can help you.

Stay safe, stay brave.

With very best wishes,

Heather Heber Percy
