Heather Heber Percy is Chairman of The Dating Agency Association (DAA).

Our Founder and President Heather Heber Percy, holds the highly prestigious office of Chairperson of The Dating Agency Association (DAA) and has served the DAA with distinction for a number of years. Heather’s role has been to champion the cause of quality matchmaking and fair dealing throughout the UK, supporting newer agencies and mentoring those who have the ambition of setting up and running a personal matchmaking agency of their own.

Heather Heber Percy is one of the UK’s best known personal matchmakers and the Heber Percy name is synonymous with integrity and fair dealing, since she joined the industry way back in 1983. Her previous involvement with the DAA has allowed the association to grow and gain strength over the years and as a consequence Heather is tremendously well known within the media, having been a regular on the BBC, ITV and LBC in years gone by and has featured in many newspapers and magazines. Samples of the press coverage are available for you to review on our Press and Media page within this site.

Arguably the role that the DAA plays is more important today than its ever been. Online Dating crime has grown exponentially in recent years to become one of the fastest-growing categories of crime within the UK. So having a strong trade body, supported by most of the traditional dating agencies is something that is tremendously important, the Chairperson and Executive Council, are the strength and voice of the DAA in the fight to keep the standards within the personal matchmaking sector as high as possible. We are proud of the leadership that Heather provides in this direction and the strength and strong work ethic that she brings to the role.

The DAA was originally set up as the trade body for the traditional dating agency companies that provided almost all of the dating opportunities at the time, their membership list features today still features many of the leading traditional introduction agencies within the United Kingdom and Southern Ireland. Although each has its own unique selling points, all member dating agencies have a strong commitment to providing today’s singles with the best possible service, wherever they are in the UK and support each other as members.

Over the years since our formation in 1983, The County Register has always been proud to support the DAA and our commitment to it remains just as strong today as it always was. The dating industry has changed so much over the years, particularly since the advent of online dating in the late 1990s, the modus operandi of the online companies is a world away from the careful, face to face and highly personal approach that traditional personal introductions companies provide and the role the DAA plays is very important.

So it is always our strong recommendation that people searching to join an agency, make sure you join an DAA – approved agency and refer to the DAA Code Of Practice (click here to view it).
